MARCO CHINGARI ONCE AGAIN AT TEATRU ASTRA

Another return to Teatru Astra’s Festival Mediterranea opera production is young Italian baritone Marco Chingari. After his successful interpretation of Iago in Verdi’s “Otello”, Scarpia in Puccini’s “Tosca”, Marcello in “La Boheme”, Alfio in “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Tonio/Taddeo in “Pagliacci”, he will now interpret Macbeth in Verdi’s opera “Macbeth” on the 25th and 27th October at Teatru Astra.

Marco Chingari debuted at the tender age of 23, singing the part of Don Carlo in “La Forza del Destino” in Bussetto, under the direction of Mro Gandolfi. Since Don Carlo, Chingari sang in many theatres in Italy and abroad, interpreting both Verdian roles and those of the ‘bel canto’. He is equally at home singing Puccini.

Although young in age, Marco Chingari has already won international competitions, including Ercolano’s Zonta, the Concorso Voci Verdiane in Bussetto, the Concorso Internazionale di Camerino, and the Concorso Internazionale Rosetum “Puccini ed il suo Tempo”, the latter with jury members M. Mazzonis and M. Tangucci. Chingari has also won the Premio Assoluto from the “Amici della Scala”.
